There are few places we have ever played where I have felt more welcome than the Yukon. It was our third time making the trek up north and every time I love it more! It was great to see some many familiar faces in the crowds as people packed in to see us. Clearly it was worth returning multiple times as 3 out of the 4 shows sold out with people lined up outside trying to get in. We felt the love from the crowds in both Whitehorse and Dawson City and I can promise we will be back one day.
The response we received in the Yukon was breathtaking in many ways. It’s hard to put into words all the emotions that were experienced seeing how our music and spread in the 5 years since we first went up. It is always amazing playing in front of a crowd that is familiar with our music, but the crowds in the Yukon take it to another level! Also, because I feel like I have to mention it one more time, the pizza at Epic Pizza is to die for!
Leaving Whitehorse to continue on to the more populated parts of the country, we had a couple days off. Under usual circumstances that would mean a whole lot of driving and then aimlessly hanging out at in a McDonald’s parking lot, but not this time. This time we were on a mission! We decided to finally stop at the famous Liard hot spring. I have to say, despite all the great things I’ve heard about the hot springs over the years, it was a lot nicer than I expected there.
Last night we played a last minute show at Underdogs in Fort St. John. It was a good turnout considering there was only about 4 days’ notice. We had a good time and it’s nice to know there is a venue to play in FSJ and we don’t have to play any more open mic nights!
Tonight we are in Red Deer at the Vat. We played here 2 years ago and have fond memories so it should be a fun night. There’s a nice big stage here, giving us plenty of room to run around, and from what I remember the sound is pretty killer too.
Good news for our show tomorrow in Edmonton, the pre-sale is now 70% sold out! Get your tickets while you can, for tomorrow we Rendezvous!
Keep the Faith,
